Clinical Lab III: Care of Childrearing/Childbearing Families is the clinical companion to LPN 201. Clinical experiences are conducted in the inpatient and outpatient settings with observational experiences of maternal, newborn, and pediatric clients. The inpatient setting involves caring for clients with medical and surgical stressors, with a focus on the issues of childrearing/childbearing families. The student is expected to integrate theoretical knowledge and the nursing process into the practice of nursing while utilizing effective communication skills when caring for clients in both the acute and chronic health care setting as the LPN member of the healthcare team. 1 credit
Pre-requisites: BIO209, NUR105, NUR115
Co-requisite: LPN201
