|This is a continuation of the clinical experience provided to students who have completed the Medical Assistant Program classroom/lab curriculum. This course will allow the student to intensify their medical office environment experience while working side- by-side with other medical professionals. Students will learn to apply technical and practical medical assistant skills through supervised experiences in a medical office setting under supervision of the program coordinator and medical personnel working in the field. Included topics are administrative tasks in medical office situations and patient interaction in a medical office environment. Students will perform competent entry-level medical assistant skills in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains, as appropriate to the clinical setting. Upon successful completion, students will be eligible to sit for the Certified Medical Assistant certification exam of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
