|This course fulfills the basic clinical training component requirements established by the Maryland Board of Nursing for certification as a Nursing Assistant. Students will work directly with patients at a clinical site under the supervision of the Clinical Instructor. Roles demonstrated may include infection control, safety/environment, mobility and positioning, body mechanics, data collection, hygiene, and common skills used during inpatient care. This course, when accompanied with approved Nursing Assistant Theory meets the requirements for approval by the Maryland Board of Nursing. Successful completion of this class, along with the Nursing Assistant Theory class, also prepares students to take the Registry Exam for Geriatric Nursing Assistant.
